Free visual inspection and a written scope of work before any mitigation begins - photos, moisture readings, and drying logs go in your claim file
The scope we write is the scope we bill. Anything new gets shown to you, in writing, before we touch it.
Meet the Venice Team Behind DryMark Restoration Venice
We’re the crew that shows up when a Venice Boulevard pipe bursts at 2 a.m. or when a Marina del Rey landlord finds black mold behind a 1960s bathroom tile job. Every person on this page is background-checked, licensed, and insured. What ties us together isn’t a handbook. It’s The Haven Standard, and the fact that Alicia Brennan still reviews every written scope before a crew starts work.
Our People
Alicia Brennan - Owner
I started Back to Dry in 2011 after six years as a claims adjuster watching homeowners lose thousands because their restoration company didn’t document moisture readings properly. The gap between what happened and what the photos proved cost people their settlements. So I built this company around one rule: every visit gets a photo record, every job gets a written price before work starts, and nothing gets signed off without psychrometric data that an adjuster can read. I still check every drying log personally. When I’m not on a job site, I’m usually explaining vapor pressure differential to someone who asked for a simple answer and got a five-minute lecture instead. That’s the job. The numbers matter.
Marcus T. - Lead Water Damage Technician
Marcus has been running extraction and drying crews for nine years, the last four with us in Venice. He’s IICRC-certified in Water Damage Restoration (WRT) and Applied Structural Drying (ASD), which means he can set a drying chamber, read the grain depression on a Phoenix 200HT, and tell you exactly when a subfloor hits 12% moisture content without guessing. Homeowners in the Oakwood area know him because he’s the one who calls at 6 p.m. to check if the dehumidifier noise kept anyone up. He keeps a notebook of every job’s starting relative humidity. Says it’s the only way to prove the equipment worked.
Elena R. - Senior Mold Remediation Installer
Elena joined us in 2019 after running abatement crews in the San Fernando Valley. She’s certified in IICRC Mold Remediation (AMRT) and handles our containment builds, negative air setups, and post-remediation verification sampling. Her specialty is the small multifamily jobs you find all over Venice, where a single bathroom leak spreads through three units before anyone smells it. She’ll tell you straight if she thinks a spot needs removal or just HEPA vacuuming and encapsulation. Off the truck, she restores vintage motorcycles. The patience translates.
David K. - Service Coordinator
David answers the phones that ring at 3 a.m. He’s the live voice you get when you call (424) 372-0129, no voicemail tree, no “leave a message and we’ll call back tomorrow.” He’s been with us since 2017 and knows which crew is where, which Phoenix dehu is on which job, and whether Alicia’s on a site visit or available to review a scope. He schedules, dispatches, and follows up with adjusters who need the photo record uploaded to their portal by noon. He grew up in Culver City and still lives there. Knows every back street between the 405 and the beach.
Javier M. - Restoration Apprentice
Javier started with us in 2023 after two years in general construction. He’s working toward his WRT certification and currently handles demolition, equipment placement, and daily moisture logging under Marcus’s supervision. He’s the one who documents every reading on the Dri-Eaz moisture meters, timestamps the photos, and uploads the record before the crew leaves. Alicia made him read The Haven Standard cover to cover on his second day. He asked more questions than any apprentice we’ve had. That’s why he’s still here.
One Standard, Every Job

The Haven Standard travels with us whether we’re drying a single-family home near the Venice Canals or coordinating a fire rebuild across the CA network. Clause 1 means the written price arrives before anyone touches your drywall. The 365-Day Done Right Promise means the warranty is signed, not mentioned in passing. Every technician on this page arrives in uniform with their license verified and their name known. The equipment changes by job, the documentation doesn’t. Dri-Eaz, Phoenix, XPOWER, B-Air, Injectidry - whatever the drying plan requires, the photo record and daily moisture log come with it, formatted to IICRC, RIA, and IFA standards. That’s how a restoration invoice becomes a payable insurance claim. That’s what Alicia built in 2011, and that’s what this crew delivers.
